Best Android Gaming Tablets of 2019

Whether you’re playing a game of Candy Crush or about to sit down to your next game of Fortnite, Android gaming tablets need to be powerful, fast and most of all, affordable. This is no easy feat when looking at the best Android tablet for gaming, because while there are a lot to choose from, they all offer something slightly different.

Many people will talk about the ease of playing on a tablet. It’s got a much bigger screen than a smartphone, so it makes everything easier to see, and the controls generally sit in the corners, so the percentage of real estate lost when playing is tiny compared to that of a phone.

There’s also the argument for it being a completely portable gaming experience because unlike a desktop, you won’t need to set anything up on a desk. Even if you’re a laptop owner, it still requires some degree of setup before you’re actually able to start a serious gaming session.

The Best Android Tablets for Games

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Graphics: Adreno 540
  • Screen Size: 10.5-inch
  • Storage: 64/256GB

Right now, as it stands, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is one of the better tablets out there. It has one of the faster processors out there but the Tab S4 processor is pretty old for what it is, but it’s still a quad-core chip you’ll see in some of the more recent phone releases. It has 4GB of RAM and one of the bigger screens that Samsung has seen in its listings of tablets. If you’re looking to play a lot of games on your tablet, you may need to opt for the 256GB version so you can play games like Fortnite, Auto Chess, Dota Underlords and Arena of Valor.

The 10.5-inch screen is a Super AMOLED display, and the device comes with an S Pen stylus. If you’re going to be playing games, the Tab S4 comes with four speakers, so the sound you’ll be able to get from your games is pretty good when compared to other tablets. It comes with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel camera on the back, and also has an iris scanner.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3

  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Graphics: Adreno 530
  • Screen Size: 9.7-inch
  • Storage:32GB

If the Tab S4 is too much, consider the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3. While mobile games aren’t incredibly demanding as of yet, you may still be able to have a fantastic time playing some of the latest games including Fortnite, Auto Chess, Clash Royale and Vainglory on your tablet without worrying too much.

Spending a little bit less than the Tab S4, you’ll still get a really good tablet. The processor isn’t quite as fast, the on-board graphics processor is a fraction slower and the screen is a little smaller, but you’ll still have the same amount of RAM in this tablet.

You’ll get half the size of the smaller S4 in terms of storage space though, which could often lead you having to uninstall some games you don’t play too often. Now, that’s fine if you’re a one-game type of person, but if you enjoy playing multiple big-ticket games on mobile, then you might be better off picking a tablet with more storage space. Having said that, Fortnite itself comes in at well under 1GB.

Asus ZenPad 3S 10

  • Processor: Snapdragon 650
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Graphics: Adreno 510
  • Screen Size: 9.7-inch
  • Storage:32GB

If you’re looking for a tablet that can hold its own for the price, the ASUS ZenPad 3S will work well for you. The Snapdragon 650 is a little dated, but still performs admirably for a mobile processor. The 4GB RAM matches some of the top tablets, while the Adreno 510 will have you playing Fortnite and Auto Chess easily.

The storage on the ZenPad leaves a little to be desired, but the 9.7-inch screen is a nice addition to the device. For the price, in comparison to some of the other flagships, is quite good too.

Huawei MediaPad M5 10

  • Processor: Octa-core
  • RAM: 4GB
  • Graphics: Mali-G71
  • Screen Size: 10.8-inch
  • Storage:64/128GB

The Huawei MediaPad M5 10 is a tablet that can compete on the top levels with some of the better tablets. You’ll have your 4GB RAM and the octa-core processer with a nice, almost 11-inch screen. The Mali-G71 is a graphics card that’s very comparative with the Adreno 540, so you’ll find very little difference between the two.

The only downside to the MediaPad when compared to the Samsung, is that it only comes with 64 or 128GB storage. But, as long as you’re looking to play games, and not store thousands of photos, you should be alright gaming on the tablet.

Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro 10

  • Processor: Snapdragon 210
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Graphics: Adreno 304
  • Screen Size: 10.1-inch
  • Storage: 16GB

Perhaps one of the coolest things about the Lenovo Yoga Tab Pro, is that if you happen to have accessories that work with the device, you can turn your mobile game into an awesome experience. The Yoga Tab has a built in 70” rotatable projector that can turn any room into a theater.

The specs of the device aren’t the best we’ve seen, but it’ll still be able to play the games you want to play, and you could honestly end up using the entire tablet as a controller while projecting your game onto the wall next to you. It might be something of a gimmick, but we thought it would be an awesome thing to try. The only downsides to the Yoga Tab are the price and the storage capacity.

Google Pixel C

  • Processor: Quad-core 1.9GHz
  • RAM: 3GB
  • Graphics: Nvidia Maxwell
  • Screen Size: 10.2-inch
  • Storage: 32/64GB

This heavy addition to the tablet world from Google will see gamers finding a really competitive tablet. The price of the Pixel C could shock you a little bit, but the design shows that it’s clearly a premium tablet. You’ll really start to see the tablet shine when you look at the gaming performance. That’s because the Pixel C sports the Nvidia Tegra X1 quad-core processor, 3GB of RAM and the Maxwell GPU.

You’ll get some of the fastest and smoothest game time with the Pixel C, and it could be compared with a PC experience considering how quickly it operates for a mobile tablet. If you can stomach the price of it and the weight of it, as it seems to be quite heavy, you can’t go wrong when you look to your next game of Auto Chess on mobile.

Dragon Touch X10

  • Processor: Quad-core
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Graphics: 700MHz GPU
  • Screen Size: 10.6-inch
  • Storage:16GB

If you’re looking for bang for your buck, then the Dragon Touch X10 is the absolute best. Priced at around $100, the Dragon Touch sports a rather hefty quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and a 700MHz GPU. It’s obviously not the fastest tablet on the list, but for the price, it’ll get you playing your mobile games in no time.

The device only has 16GB worth of storage. But, it does support up to 128GB in the form of an SD card. So you can always upgrade the storage if you want to install all the games you can. It has an IPS screen too and sports a 4K micro HDMI port to connect up to your screen. The versatility in the Dragon Touch is quite something.

NVIDIA Shield K1

  • Processor: Quad-core 2.2GHz
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Graphics: ULP GeForce Kepler
  • Screen Size: 8-inch
  • Storage:16GB

The NVIDIA Shield K1 is a tablet that has been launched to focus on gaming. Something that you may find quite strange considering it only has the 2GB of RAM. The processor and GPU will make it one of the strongest contenders in the tablet line up. Unfortunately, the storage and screen size leave a little to be desired. You can also grab a controller with it, to make your experience way more immersive.

Game On The Go…

At the end of the day, mobile games have been designed to be easier on the handheld. So in truth, you’ll want to spend the kind of money that you can realistically spend, to get the best tablet possible. Some of these tablets have some really awesome features, while some are just best of the best. You may also find a few tablets that are considerably less than your your price range, which would be an added bonus too.

It doesn’t matter what type of mobile games you’re into. Whether you’re playing Arena of Valor, Vainglory or Clash Royale. Even if you’re more into the PC adaptations of Auto Chess and Fortnite, you’ll be able to enjoy your mobile gaming experience with each one of these tablets time and time again.
